As every year, by this time, I see all around the press and the net, articles, posts and photos cheering for the end of the school year.
Pupils are glad! Very glad! Happy! It is, at least for a while, the end of this awful trouble that is school.
I remember when I was at school, we all waited this magic moment. More, at the exit, we used to tear our books apart, even burn them, in some kind of a joyful fest.
Today, children may not torture their books this way but, I’ve seen it with my own children, the approve the same satisfaction leaving the classroom.
I have being wondering a lot about this phenomenon. Why children don’t like school, if not hate it.
Been myself in the educational arena, I try to figure out the reasons. Any reasons.
I could give you quite many, I’ve found. This is not my point here. I only know, and I’m positively sure for that that,
not liking school, it is NOT the children’s fault…
I also wanted to tell you that, on My Planet, children are sad at the end of the school year. And that’s good!
